Two excellent museums, the Kuopio Cultural History Museum and the Kuopio Natural History Museum in an over 100-year-old building. From the enigmatic mammoth to the idyllic black cottage! The museum shop offers a wide range of unique, high quality products which are excellent for souvenirs and presents.
The museum shop sells titles which are published by the Opening hours Tuesday to Friday: 10am -5pm, Wednesday: 10am -7pm, Saturday and Sunday: 11am -5pm, Monday: closed. Entrance fees: Adults 6 €, children (7-18 years), students, unemployed, pensioners and groups (min. 10 people) 4 €, family ticket 15 €, children under 7 for free. The museum card can be purchased for 12 € at Kuopio Museum, Old Kuopio Museum, J.V. Snellman Home Museum, the Orthodox Church Museum of Finland and VB- Photographic Centre. The card is valid for one year and offers a free entrance to the six museums listed above. The six museums in Annual card for Kuopio Museum 30 €. There is a wheelchair ramp available for the main entrance. The staff will help you when you ring the doorbell. Disabled toilet facilities, wheelchairs and strollers can be found at the museum. There is no elevator. There is a parking area for customers on Museokatu -street.

The exhibitions of the Museum of Natural History include a reconstruction of a mammoth as well as a display of Neanderthal people, the first inhabitants in Finland, both of which are unique in Finland.
